Kathmandu, Oct 23 : The National Centre for Children at Risk has rescued 20 street children from Gaushala area today.
The Police’s Children at Risk Search Centre took these children under control this morning. The government had recently declared the New Bus Park, Pashupati, Ratna Park, Swoyambhu areas free from beggars.
The National Child Rights Council and the Centre among other organisations have been rescuing helpless children from the streets under the campaign of ridding the city free of street children, the Council’s spokesperson Ram Bahadur Chand said.
Police Inspector Mohan Bikram Dahal said 20 Indian children begging around the temple area at Pashupatinath have been taken under control and they would be sent to the child reform home after interrogation.
