Kathmandu, Oct 24 : A meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare has been organised here today to exchange experiences of Nepal and China in ensuring the rights of consumers.
On the occasion, the Committee’s President Bimal Prasad Shreevastav shared with the attending Chinese delegation about the committee carrying out its works. Likewise, he showed his happiness at progress and prosperity China has achieved so far.
He also expected China’s assistance in promoting bilateral trade and infrastructural development of Nepal. Besides, he assured the Chinese delegation of their participation in market monitoring being carried out by the Committee once the situation allows.
Similarly, the parliamentary committee member, Mukunda Neupane said market monitoring has been intensified targeting festivals in view of consumers at risk of being cheated during festivals.
Likewise, Tang Jun, Vice Minister of State Administration for Market Regulation, China, shared some work similarities carried out by the parliamentary committee of Nepal and respective Chinese ministry.
He also expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with Nepal in protecting rights of consumers and market monitoring. The Chinese delegation has also invited the parliamentary committee members to visit China.
