PM Oli undergoes hemodialysis, Grande says discharged today itself

Kathmandu, Oct 31: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is undergoing medical treatment at the Grande International Hospital at Dhapasi, will likely return home today itself as he has had successful hemodialysis on Wednesday and today. 

Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ gave this information while talking briefly to media persons today after taking stock of the Prime Minister’s health condition at the hospital.

He said PM Oli’s health was in normal state and he would probably return home today itself after taking rest for some time.  

“The Prime Minister has undergone dialysis just a while ago. As doctors told me, he might return to Baluwatar (the PM’s official residence) today itself after a short rest at the hospital. He underwent dialysis for one time yesterday. The doctors themselves will tell later whether he needs another dialysis or not,” party chair Dahal said.

On Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ishwar Pokharel reached the hospital to inquire about the Prime Minister’s health.

The hospital has urged for decreasing the number of visits to the Prime Minister considering his health condition.

It had issued a press release on Wednesday evening stating that the Prime Minister would return to his residence after the required medical tests are completed.

Prime Minister Oli was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday in course of regular health check-up.

He had undergone plasmapheresis at the National University Hospital in Singapore from August 22 to September 6 before this.
