Kathmandu : Khadga Bikram Lama has been elected the president of Chefs Association of Nepal.
The 25th general assembly of the Association held on Friday elected a 15-member working committee under Lama’s leadership for a term of two years.
The elected officials of the working committee are: Thakur Prasad Poudel as the First Vice President, Shiva Hari Ghimire as the Vice-President, Padam Bahadur Alemagar as the General Secretary, Shree Krishna Gajurel as Secretary and Shyam Bhaadur Tamang as the Treasurer.
The newly-elected president Lama said that the Association would work towards reaching the Nepali typical food in the world market and making the Visit Nepal Year 2020 successful.
According to him, the Association will work to promote and publicize 26 different varieties of typical Nepali food in the world market including in Turkey, Australia, India, China and Japan.
The Association, established in 1996, currently has more than 2000 members. It has been making an important contribution to the promotion of tourism by promoting the typical Nepali cuisine in the national and international level.
