NAC to operate flights to Osaka only two days in a week

Kathmandu, Sept 3, 2019: The Nepal Airlines Corporation is to operate flights to Osaka of Japan only for two days in a week. The NAC has operated direct flight to Osaka from August 29.

The NAC reduced the number of flights to Japan, citing lack of passengers for the time being. The NAC would make flights only on Tuesday and Saturday.

Earlier, it had announced to operate flights on three days– Sunday, Tuesday and Saturday, in a week. Only three flights have been operated since August 12.

Assistant Spokespersons at NAC, Sulekh Mishra, said that the flight schedule has been amended and only two flights would be operated in a week.

He said that the number of flights to Osaka would be made four during Dashain and Tihar as well as thereafter. The NAC, operating flights to Osaka since 1994, had cancelled the flights to Osaka in 2007, citing lack of aircraft.

Meanwhile, the NAC said that its serious attention has been drawn towards the news published and disseminated in different media linking NAC and executive chairperson, Madan Kharel.

Issuing a press release, the NAC clarified that executive chairperson Kharel has been taking rest as per advice of doctors as he is not feeling well these days.

As per doctors, he is suffering from viral and typhoid and he has to take rest at least for five days, reads the statement.

Condemning the news published in media regarding the issue related Kharel, who is on leave, and wished him for speedy recovery.
