Kathmandu : Nepal Academy has launched a month-long book fair with the aim to develop and encourage reading culture. Over 600 types of books and magazines including 500 published by the Academy have been put on display and sale, said the exhibition coordinator Sudhir Dhungel.
Price of the displayed items ranges from Rs 2 to Rs 1,400 each and there is 15 percent to 60 percent discount on each purchase.
The items on show include ‘Kabya Archana’ (price Rs 2), Pragya-Nepali-English dictionary (price Rs 1400), ‘Arthashastraka Shabdawali’ (glossary of economics) by Badri Pokharel, ‘Karma Darshan’ by Gobinda Prasad Ghimire, ‘Darshanawali-6’ edited by Jagat Prasad Upadhyaya and Bishnu Prabhat and ‘Antardeshiya Nepali Kathaharu’ (inter-country Nepali stories) edited by Hemnath Poudel, Suren Upreti and Shashi Lumumbu.
Inaugurated on November 17 by the Academy’s chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti, the exhibition could extend up to January 12 as per demand of the visitors, said Dhungel.
