Hospitality Nepal Contest begins in Pokhara, food festival in Dhulikhel

Pokhara, Dec 22, 2019 : The fourth edition of Hospitality Nepal Contest began here on Saturday. The contest is organized by the AP Entertainment.

Accordingly, application for the hospital Nepal cost has been opened on Saturday.  Youths affiliated to the hospitality sector can apply for the contest from any part of the country, said AP Entertainment Managing Director Arjun Pandey. The contest is also targeted to support the Visit Nepal Year 2020.

Apart from Pokhara, the organizers are preparing to bring contestants for the event from Kathmandu, Butwal and Chitwan through ‘college campaign’. A total of 30 contestants will be selected for the final event following various rounds of audition.

Hospitality experts will train the final contestants on skills and knowledge related to the hospitality sector. This will include barista, bar tender, public speaking, dressing sense, leadership and self marketing and communication skills.

The winner will receive a Thailand or Dubai tour package along with cash prizes and other lucrative opportunities.

Food festival in Dhulikhel

Dhulikhel: Food festival will be organized every week during the Visit Nepal Year 2020 in Dhulikhel. The Dhulikhel municipality will host the food festival for three days every week during the year.

Along with the food festival, local art and craft as well as culture will be showcased during the event to be hosted by the municipality at Old Bus Park. The event is being planned to attract tourists and also to increase the duration of their stay, said Mayor Ashok Byanju. Efforts will also be made to publicize and promote the art and culture of Dhulikhel.

Mayor Byanju said that the municipality is also constructing parks in all the 12 wards of the municipality and 10 new parks in Dhulikhel area, along the BP Highway. “We will be organizing events and programmes targeting domestic and foreign tourists,” he said.

He also appealed to all the local industrialists, private sector, non-government organisations and the locals to contribute to the success of the VNY 2020.

Secretary of Regional Hotel Association, Dhulikhel Jyotshna Sainju expressed the commitment to collaborate with the municipality in promoting VNY 2020. There are more than 60 small and big hotels in Dhulikhel.
