KATHMANDU: A Nepali football team has been announced for the Three Nations Cup. Chief coach of the Nepali national football team Bal Gopal Maharjan announced the 23-member squad on Thursday under the captaincy of goalkeeper Kiran Kumar Limbu.
Coach Maharjan has picked 10 players for the upcoming game who were in closed training. Goalkeepers Bishal Shrestha and Bishal Sunuwar, defenders Palsang Lama, Suraj BK, Bikas Khawas and midfielders Hemant Thapa Magar and Santosh Tamang were not included in the team.
Likewise, forwards Ashish Lama, George Prince Karki and Navyug Shrestha were also not selected for the Three Nations Cup.
Nepal will play its first match against Kyrgyzstan on Thursday and its second match against Bangladesh on Saturday.
Bangladesh beat Kyrgyzstan 1-0 in the inaugural match of the tournament on Tuesday.
