KATHMANDU: The government has barred foreign nationals from entering third countries by making Nepal a transit country.
Recently, a large number of Indian nationals from India have been flying to Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia via Nepal due to increased risk of new variant of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Immigration Department has issued a notice banning people from coming to Nepal from Tribhuvan International Airport and traveling to other destinations by using Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) only as a transit point.
According to the director of the Department, Jhank Nath Dhakal, this rule will come into force from April 28 midnight. Coming from abroad as the final destination and going abroad from Nepal is not prohibited.
