COVID-19: 4,897 people infected, 17 died in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: In the last 24 hours, an additional 4,897 people have been found infected with the coronavirus. According to Ministry of Health and Population, 17 people died with the COVID-19.

The health system has carried out 13,879 RT-PCR test and 955 antigen tests.

At the same time, the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached 3,211.

The number of active cases of coronavirus infection has reached 30,290 across the country. Out of which 2,364 are in institutional isolation and 27,845 are in home isolation.

Similarly, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 2,047 people in Kathmandu Valley. Of them, 1,464 are from Kathmandu, 232 from Bhaktapur and 351 from Lalitpur district.

Similarly, 434 people have been infected in Rupandehi, 328 in Banke, 194 in Kailali, 182 in Kaski, 180 in Dang, 147 in Chitwan, 132 in Surkhet, 128 in Morang and 123 in Parsa.

According to reports, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 99 children under 9 years of age while 317 children under 10 to 19 years of age have been found infected with coronavirus.
