KATHMANDU: The country on Sunday recorded a total of 8,850 new cases of COVID-19 as the second wave of the crisis and its more contagious variant is raging across the country.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 18,787 RT-PCR tests and 600 antigen tests were conducted.
With this, the number of the infected individuals to date reached 394,667.
The Ministry stated that Kathmandu district recoded 3,161 new cases, 504 in Bhaktapur and 533 in Lalitpur district.
Similarly, altogether 4,022 got recovered in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
Likewise, the virus killed 52 individuals in the past 24 hours and 26 COVID-19 related deaths of the previous days were also announced on Sunday, taking the national death to 3,720 so far.
Presently, the number of active cases is counted at 88,160 while 302,787 have been cured to date.
