COVID-19: Country records 2,297 new cases, 3,130 recovered

KATHMANDU: Coronavirus has been confirmed on 2,297 more individuals in the last 24 hours across the country. With this, total number of coronavirus cases has reached 622,640 so far.

A total of 1,584 people tested positive to coronavirus through RT-PCR method and 713 through Antigen.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 3130 people have recovered from COVID-19 infection. With this, the number of people who have recovered from the virus has reached 559,928.

Similarly, 46 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 death toll has reached 8,772.

A total of 10,904 tests including 6,583 RT-PCR and 4,321 antigen tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 379 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. There are now 53,940 active COVID-19 cases across the nation.

So far, 2,500,196 people have received two doses of vaccine and 731,653 people have received second dose. However, nearly one million people, who were inoculated Covishield vaccine, are desperately waiting for their second dose since three months.

There are still COVID-19 infected 50,304 people in home isolation and 3,636 in institutional isolation. Out of which, 811 people have been admitted in ICUs and 237 in ventilators across the country.
