Rs 2.5 million received to organise ‘Harisiddhi dance’

PATAN: Lalitpur Metropolitan City has provided Rs 2.5 million in assistance for the protection of historical Harisiddhi Bhawanidevi Dance of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-18.

Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan, handed over a cheque of Rs 2.5 million on Saturday to the Chairman of Harisiddhi Trishakti Bhawani Sewa Samiti, Dhan Bahadur Maharjan.

During the programme, Mayor Maharjan said that the amount was provided to set up a revolving fund since it was urgent to preserve the cultural heritages including Jatra, festival, dance, temples and arts.

Similarly, the Lalitpur Metropolitan City on Friday provided Rs 2.5 million to set up a revolving fund meant for the preservation of Sikali Dance of Khokana.

Lalitpur Metropolitan City has been proactively working with the community agencies to preserve the cultural heritages of the city. Some months ago, the city provided Rs 5 million to work for the preservation of Kartik dance.
