Nepal records 3,899 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: A total of 3,899 new cases of corona virus infection were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health and Population, these cases were identified through RT-PCR tests on 17,518 individuals.

With this, the total number infected has reached 742,817 till today in the country. The infection rate stands at 19.2 per cent.

In Kathmandu valley, 774 new cases were detected on Tuesday. Similarly, 1,778 infected persons have recovered in the past 24 hours.

With this, total recovery number has reached 647,079 till July 27 in the country.

The government has managed to inoculate 3,462,340 first dose of vaccine while 1,457,670 has received full dose of vaccine.

The recovery rate from the infection is 94.4 per cent. Ministry further shared that 22 infected patients have died in the same period.

Total deaths caused by the virus infection have reached 9,758 till today.

Of the active cases, 611 infected patients are undergoing treatment in ICU. Of the infected, 171 were found infected with a new variant of the corona virus.
