COVID-19: 953 new cases reported in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: A total of 953 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Ministry, in its routine virtual press meet, shared that the new cases were confirmed from 10,579 tests conducted during the same period.

There are currently 19,700 active cases in the country.

Among the infected ones, 363 have been receiving treatment in ICU, 109 in ventilators, 18,340 are in home-isolations while 1,360 in institutional isolations. Altogether, 237 are in quarantine facilities.

Altogether 1,371 COVID-19 patients got recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. With this, the recovery caseload stands at 759,875.

The recovery rate is 96.1 per cent. Likewise, six people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours across the country. This takes the fatality caseload to 11,087 till date.

According to the Ministry, a total of 216,725 people received the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday alone.

The number of people receiving the first dose of vaccine reached 6,528,392 while 6,014,941 people have been fully vaccinated so far.
