POKHARA: Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN), Pokhara, is to organise a mini-festival on September 27 on the occasion of Tourism Day.
Organising a press meet here today, REBAN, Pokhara, Chairperson Laxman Baral said that they are going to give continuity to mini-festival this year too by adopting health safety protocols.
He shared that the one-day mini-festival is going to be held in order to make the tourism dynamic, adding the tourism sector was mostly affected by coronavirus pandemic.
Different cultural events like musical bands, Lakhe dance of Newar community, Jhumra dance of Tharu community, among others would be presented in the festival.
Baral added that the event would be organised by managing crowd adopting no-vehicle zone concept in the festival venue as there is still risk of coronavirus infection.
Saying tourism target activities were necessary to make the tourism dynamic, Chairperson of Pokhara Tourism Council, Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, adding that the mini-festival would disseminate a message that Pokhara is safe and open.
Similarly, officer of Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki, Nabin Pokharel, shared that office-bearers of diplomatic missions would reach Pokhara and trekking routes surrounding to Pokhara to give a message that Pokhara is safe and open.
He opined that programmes like mini-festival would help promote internal tourism, stating that there are many things in Pokhara to attract tourists.
