COVID-19: Nepal records 416 new cases

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has said that a total of 416 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the country in the past 24 hours.

The new cases were found from 12,402 sample tests conducted during the period.

In the last 24 hours, 270 COVID-19 patients got rid of the virus. So far, the total number of recovered patients is 798,544. The recovery rate is 97.7 percent.

Currently, Lalitpur is the only district with more than 500 active cases of coronavirus while 11 districts including Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Nawalparasi Purba, Rupandehi, Banke and Kailali have 200 plus active cases of the virus.

Similarly, there is zero infection in Manang, Humla and Mugu districts.

Meanwhile, an individual succumbed to the contagion in the last 24 hours. A total of 11,478 persons have died of coronavirus so far in Nepal.

Likewise, the anti-COVID vaccine was administered to 74,452 persons on Monday.
