KATHMANDU: Israel has expressed its readiness to create more employment opportunities for the Nepali labourers.
At a meeting with Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha at the latter’s office today, Israeli ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder said that Israel was ready to provide jobs for the Nepalis in other professions other than as ‘care-givers’.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, during the meeting Minister Shrestha requested Israeli envoy Goder to work towards creating work opportunities for the Nepalis in other sectors as well.
Currently, there are around 12,000 Nepalis labourers working in Israel.
As per the labour pact inked between Nepal and Israel in 2020, Israel has provided work opportunities for 1,175 Nepalis workers as care-giver who are all set to fly Israel completing all sorts of tests and examinations.
Nepal has been requesting the Israeli government to provide care-giver jobs to remaining 425 in roster.
