KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Province-2 Lalbabu Raut has pledged to form a separate Academy for conservation of languages and cultures in the Province.

At a programme organized by the Consulate General of India in Birgunj on Sunday marking the World Hindi Diwas-2022, CM Raut reassured that a separate Academy would be established at the earliest since the provincial government was committed to conservation of each language and culture.

“We will do the needful through formulation of Act or Directives,” the CM reaffirmed his commitment.

Stating that the Hindi language was a language linking east and west, CM Raut argued that the Hindi language had bridged religious, cultural, economic and political ties between Nepal and India.

Citing the centuries-old ties between Nepal and India, he asserted that no any wall nor any demarcation would break the tie between the two countries.

Likewise, Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishore Shah credited the Hindi language for making Indo-Nepal relationship further cordial. Similarly, Consul General of Consulate General of India, Nitesh Kumar, said that Hindi was among the most-spoken languages in the world.

The yearly celebration of the World Hindi Diwas was to promote Hindi language as the international language, according to him.

On the occasion, senior litterateurs Rambharosh Kapadi (Bhramar) and Dr Pashupatinath Jha called for conserving the Hindu language, stating the Hindi language had further strengthened the religious and cultural ties between Nepal and India.

Other litterateurs such as Prem Dev, Dr Rewatiraman Labh and Himanshu Chanudhary recited poems on various themes in Hindi language.

On the occasion, CM Raut feted various literary figures offering them shawl.
