COVID-19: 1,446 new cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: A total of 1,446 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed from 11,424 samples tested during the same period. Similarly, 255 infected ones enjoyed recovery in a day, taking the recovery caseload to 814,485 as of now. The recovery rate stands at 97.7 percent, shared the Ministry.

Likewise, two people succumbed to the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours. With this, COVID-19 fatality has reached 11,606 till date. The case fatality rate is 1.4 per cent.

There are currently 7,855 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.

Meanwhile, 210,594 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts have over 500 active cases of COVID-19 while Sunsari, Kaski, Banke and Kailali districts have over 200 cases.
Mugu and Mustang districts don’t have any active case at the moment, the Ministry said.
