Two climbers from Switzerland and USA die while climbing Mt. Everest

KATHMANDU: Two climbers who reached Mt Everest have died. According to Mira Acharya, director of the Tourism Board from the base camp, Abdul Waraich, a Swiss climber who had returned to the South Summit after completing the ascent, died at the same place.

He died at his place of tent. Acharya informed while rescuing the Seven Summits that were managing the ascent which could not go due to bad weather while sending Sherpa helpers for rescue. Today, American citizen Puwei Liu also died in Camp 4.

He had a problem when he reached Hillary Step while going on the ascent. After that, he was returned to Camp 4. Director Acharya informed that he died on the way when he was brought to Camp 4.

More than 150 climbers have successfully climbed Mt. Everest this year. The favorable weather for the ascent is over for now. Gyanendra Shrestha, a liaison officer at the base camp, said that more ascents will be made after May 20.
