Covid infected another 145 people died, Death toll cross 5,000 mark

KATHMANDU: The coronavirus has killed another 145 people in the last 24 hours across the country. Similarly, the infection has been confirmed in 7,368 people, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

According to the ministry, the number of active infected people across the country is 110,163. Of which, 7,808 are in institutional isolation and 102,455 are in home isolation.

The total death toll due to coronavirus infection reached to 5,001.

The number of people living in home isolation due to coronavirus infection in Nepal has exceeded 100,000.

According to the ministry, the number of people living in home isolation on Sunday is 101,771. The highest number is 48,893 in Bagmati and 21,427 in Lumbini province.

Similarly, 8,571 people are in home isolation in State 1, 7,542 in Gandaki, 5,910 in State 2, 5,743 in Sudurpaschim and 3,685 in Karnali State, according to the Ministry.

There are 7,969 people in the institutional isolation on Sunday. Of them, 1,331 are undergoing treatment in ICU and 370 in ventilator.

In Kathmandu Valley, there are 1,986 people in institutional isolation, out of which 277 are in ICU and 129 are in ventilator.

The highest number of 1,881 coronavirus infections have been reported in Kathmandu, 527 in Kailali, 436 in Lalitpur, 403 in Rupandehi, 352 in Morang, 319 in Dang and 292 in Bhaktapur. Similarly, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 255 people in Kavrepalanchok, 251 in Chitwan, 215 in Surkhet and 200 in Jhapa.
