Country reports 2,328 new COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU: A total of 2,328 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were detected from 5,837 PCR tests and 4,296 antigen tests conducted during the same period.

With the latest update, the COVID-19 caseload reached 643,580. According to the Ministry, Kathmandu, Sunsari, Kaski and Morang districts recorded the highest number of new cases in the past 24 hours.

Similarly, altogether 3,066 COVID-19 patients got recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total recovery number at 606,666 till date, the Ministry said. Likewise, 19 people succumbed to the infection in the same period.

The number of COVID-19 fatality totaled 9,198 as of July 3. There are currently a total of 27,716 active cases of COVID-19 in the country. Out of them, 627 have been admitted in ICUs and 181 in ventilator across the country.

Likewise, 2,604,866 people have received first dose of vaccine while 757,962 received second dose.
