Country records 1,875 new COVID-19 cases, 21 deaths

KATHMANDU: The country has reported 1,875 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The infection cases are from 10,066 COVID-19 tests, said the Ministry of Health and Population.

So far, 630,407 infected people have got over the virus with 2,164 in the past 24 hours.

Similarly, the death toll from the infection has hit 9,527 with 21 deaths in the recent update, said the Ministry.

In the age group, 5112 people have died from 60 and above years of age, while 1875 from 50-59, 1374 from 40-49, 791 from 30-39, 279 from 20-29, 49 from 10-19 and 41 from 0-9 years of age group.

A total of 2,912,850 people so far received first dose of vaccine while 1,126,870 have received second dose.

According to the ministry, a total of 23,477 people are in home isolation and 2,475 in institutional isolation. Among them, 583 in ICUs and 176 in ventilators.
