Nepal records 3,481 new Covid cases with 30 deaths

KATHMANDU: The country has recorded 3,481 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

This was revealed in 16,656 samples including 10,907 through RT-PCR and 5,749 Antigen tests carried out in various laboratories across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

This takes the case load of COVID-19 infection in the country to 723,296 confirmed through RT-PCR and 72,095 through Antigen tests.

Likewise, 3,481 people recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 675,083, with the recovery rate standing at 93.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 30 people lost their lives in the past 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 10,180. The case fatality rate is 1.5 per cent.

The number of active cases in the country is 38,033 with 34,813 of them in home isolation, 3,220 in institutional isolation.

Of the infected, 796 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 184 are with ventilator support.

Also today, 195,211 people vaccinated against COVID-19, taking the total number of fully vaccinated people to 597,819 with both doses of Covishield, 1083,403 with both doses of Verocell and 1,207,138 with the single shot of Janssen vaccine.

In addition, 1,868,425 people have received the first dose of Covishield.
