Students, people aged 40 getting first dose of Vero Cell in KMC

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has prepared eight more inoculation centres to give the first jab of Vero Cell vaccine against COVID-19 from today.

The KMC is giving the first dose of Vero Cell vaccine to the people aged 40 years and above, and examinees of grade 11, 12 and university level who have completed 18 years. The KMC said that the vaccination drive will continue till 5:00 pm from 10:00 am.

The service is available from the inoculation centres of 32 wards of the KMC and eight other stations including Radha Swami Isolation Centre, Armed Police Force Hospital, Bir Hospital, Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital, Civil Service Hospital, Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Nepal Police Hospital and Birendra Military Hospital.

Chief of Urban Health Department of KMC Hari Kunwar said that the targeted individuals can get the vaccine on Friday, Saturday and coming Tuesday ( August 24).

Likewise, the KMC has urged the people to appear the inoculation centres with the document that clearly mentions their age and identity.
