COVID-19: 2,065 new cases, 25 fatalities in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: A total of 2,065 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

The statistics made public by MoHP on Friday stated that the new cases were detected from 1,577 PCR tests and 488 antigen tests conducted during the same period.

Similarly, 2,337 COVID-19 patients enjoyed full recovery during the same period, taking the recovery caseload to 708,230 till date.

The recovery rate is 93.6 per cent. The number of active cases stands at 37,599.

Among the infected ones, 622 have been receiving treatment in ICU facilities, 171 in ventilator facilities, 24,673 in home-isolation, 2,923 in institutional isolation and 337 in quarantine.

Likewise, 25 people succumbed to deadly infection in a day. This puts the COVID-19 death toll at 10,663 as of now.

Meanwhile, 179,865 people got vaccinated against Coronavirus infection on Friday.

The number of fully vaccinated people stands at 4,052,765 while over 5.6 million people got the first dose of vaccine, the Ministry said.
