2,004 new cases of coronavirus infection confirmed

KATHMANDU: The country has reported 2,004 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

In the same period, altogether 1,846 infected ones returned home after their recovery from the virus.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 14,650 tests were conducted across the country.

The number of reported active cases stands at 33,946. Likewise, 16 people succumbed to the virus from the infection in the past 24 hours.

As of September 2, the number of COVID-19 deaths reached 10,786 in the country.

Similarly, 544 people are getting treatment in ICU facilities and 166 others are in ventilator.

Of the other active cases, a total of 31,619 individuals are in home isolation and 2,327 infected ones are in institutional isolation facilities.

According to the Ministry, 19 districts have more than 500 active cases of the coronavirus patients.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to open all business and transportation across the country but COVID related guidelines like wearing mask are mandatory.

Likewise, with the permission of local authorities and municipalities the school will be opened physically.
