KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 151 runs in the second One-Day International Cricket match played at Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman today.
Chasing a target of 234 runs, PNG team was bowled out on 82 runs in 19.1 overs. Nepal’s leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane bagged 6 wickets just conceding 11 runs. It was his one of the career best performance. He was declared Player of the Match.
With this, Nepal won the 2-match ODI series by 2-0.
Winning the toss, Nepal had decided to bat first. Nepal managed to score 233 runs in 49.1 overs losing all the wickets. Nepal’s Rohit Poudel top scored with 86 runs. Likewise, Captain Gyanendra Malla scored 45, and Karan KC 42 runs.
