COVID-19: 326 new cases, two deaths

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population recorded 326 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The new cases were confirmed through 12,498 samples tested during the period. The infection rate is 17 percent.

In the latest update of the Ministry, there are currently 5,005 active cases in the country.

Similarly, 255 infected ones enjoyed recovery from the flu-like infection in a day. The recovery rate stands at 98 per cent, informed the Ministry.

Likewise, two persons succumbed to Coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

The total fatality caused by COVID-19 reached 11,598 as of now.

There are more than 500 infection cases in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

Similarly, there are more than 200 cases of Coronavirus in Sunsari, Kaski, Banke and Kailali districts.

The districts having no coronavirus are Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang, Humla, Mugu and Bajura. Meanwhile, today saw the highest number of people vaccinated in the country.

Altogether 344,044 received the vaccine today alone.

So far, 14,360,683 people have received the single dose while 1,597,797 have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 till date.
