COVID-19: 1,167 new cases, two deaths in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country witnessed further rise in the coronavirus infection.

Ministry of Health and Population recorded 1,167 new cases of coronavirus in the latest update.

The new cases were confirmed from a total of 12,632 tests conducted in the past 24 hours.

There are currently 6,755 active cases of COVID-19 in Nepal.

Similarly, 224 infected persons got recovery in the last 24 hours.

The recovery rate stands at 97.8 per cent while total recovery caseload is 814,230 as of now.

Likewise, in the last 24 hours, two persons succumbed to the contagion. The total fatality caused by the flu-like infection reached 11,604.

A total of 45,493 persons got vaccines against COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

The districts having more than 500 active cases are Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

In the Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu district alone has 2,090 actives cases while Lalitpur 803 and Bhaktapur 588.
