Kathmandu, March 10: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to take vote of confidence in the House of Representatives meeting on March 13.
The Prime Minister’s secretariat on Sunday sent a letter to the federal parliament requesting for the necessary arrangement to this regard.

02- Solidarity for women’s leadership development
Janakpurdham, March 10: Speakers at a programme held here on Saturday said that the development of family, society and nation is not possible without the all-round development of women.
In an interaction with the leaders of the religious, social, educational and other fields related to gender equality and women’s leadership held in Lalgadh of Dhanusha under the auspices of Dalit Mahila Kendra Nepal, they also expressed their commitment to support the development of women from their respective fields.
On the occasion, religious leader Durga Prasad Khanal said social development cannot be imagined without the cooperation of men and women but in the past injustice has been done to women due to lack of understanding. So now we religious leaders should move forward and spread the real message.
Similarly, Pandit Bachukailash Pokharel of Radhakrishna Temple in Dhalkebar expressed his commitment to spread the fact that the religious scriptures do not discriminate between men and women.
Similarly, Buddhist Haitya Singh Gunjan mentioned that there is no discrimination between men and women in Buddhism.
Ramkumar Mahato, the headmaster of Mahendra Secondary School in Mithila Municipality-6, pointed out that a supportive environment should be created from the home to remove the obstacles that women are facing from moving forward.
Executive chairperson of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Dharmendra Jha, said that women are still being oppressed due to gender inequality, discrimination, and dowry system in Madhes province and said that everyone should play a positive role against it. He said that the leaders of the society should change their thinking to stop violence against women based on custom, tradition and wrong religious values.
Likewise, Gaura Nepali, the founding president of Dalit Mahila Kendra Nepal and Tejendra Lama, the executive director of the organization, said the programme was organised the aim of spreading awareness about the wrong aspects connected with anti-women thinking, belief, custom-tradition and religion-practices and expressed the confidence that in the future the participants will play a positive role in their respective fields.

03- Mithila Madhyamik Parikrama starts today
Mahendranagar (Dhanusha), March 10: The fifteen-day historical Mithila Madhyamik Parikrama festival has started from Kouchari in Dhanusha from today.
Thousands of devotees from Nepal and India take part in the circumambulation, stopping at 15 different places covering a distance of 133 kilometers by foot.
Mahant Ramnaresh Sharan of Mithila Vihari Temple said today all the pilgrims will gather at Hanumangadhi. The travelers will leave for Kalyaneshwar tomorrow morning and a day later they will rest after reaching Girija place in Fulhar, India. They will then reach Matihani, in Mahottari on March 13.
Devotees participating in the circumambulation are adorned in traditional costumes along with singing of hymns and playing of musical instruments. They stay overnight at 15 resting places including 13 in Dhanusha and Mahottari of Nepal and two in India.
The circumambulation will conclude in Bisaul on March 23. The last day will end with a round tour of Janakpur city.
The pilgrimage is believed to be celebrated as a circumambulation since the 18th century. As per tradition the pilgrimage reaches Janakpur within 15 days and end on Fagu Purnima by playing Holi. It is traditionally believed that participating in this circumambulation will help do away with the sins and injustices caused by mind, words and deeds and fulfill one’s wishes along with enlightenment.

04- Tennis sports being promoted in Gandaki
Kaski, March 10: The Gandaki province government has started training in tennis sport for with the objective of identifying young talent and finding a future in the sports.
Tennis training for children under the ‘Khelcha Gandaki’ initiative is organized by the Provincial Sports Council Gandaki. The program started on Saturday at the tennis court in Pokhara Stadium with the coordination of Gandaki Province Tennis Association and technical support of Kaski District Tennis Association.
This training program for children will be conducted for two months. The goal is to bring the children who are busy with their mobile phones to the playground. A total of 25 children between 6 to 16 years of age are participating in the training program, said Secretary of Gandaki Province Tennis Association, Naveen Chali.
Likewise, member secretary of Provincial Sports Council Gandaki, Sridhar Sharma, said that the tennis training for children will help produce talented tennis players in the country.
Through this training program, we have aimed to bring the children from the underprivileged community in the society to the tennis field and produce national tennis players”, said president of Gandaki Province Tennis Association, Binod Kayastha.

05- CPN (US) to elect delegates to general convention
Kathmandu, March 10: The CPN (Unified Socialist) is going to elect delegates for its upcoming 10th General Convention.
Party Secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha shared that the party has instructed the subordinate central bodies, provincial and district committees and other committees to recommend the list of delegates before the deadline and send them to the center. The selection will take place from coming Baisakh 15 to 22.
All the committees are required to recommend representatives based on the evaluation of the contribution and performance of the respective leaders in the organization and inform the members of their jurisdiction through a meeting.
The party has set a deadline for all the leaders who will participate in the general convention to renew the party membership by mid-April.
Meanwhile, the Party’s Special Provincial Liaison Committee has instructed seven subordinate provincial Liaison Committees and 74 District Liaison Forums to send suggestions for documents to be presented at the general convention.
The party is going to hold its general convention in Kathmandu from coming Jetha 3 to 7.

06- Farmers attract to herbs production in Kailali
Tikapur, March 10: Farmers at Tikapur, Lamki-Chua, Janaki, Bhajani and Bardgoriya in Kailali have lately attracted to herbs production. They have chosen the herbs production as the third crops after maize and mustard farming.
This year, 212 farmers of various parts in Kailali are engaged in the herbs production.
The Tikapur-based Herbs Production and Processing Company aims to produce 4,000 kilos of oil from Mentha (a type of mint) plants this year. It has so far produced mint oil worth Rs 5.6 million using locally produced raw materials.
Tikapur has an advanced herbs processing centre. However, its full-fledged operation is awaited. According to Company’s Tikapur Chief Kamal Belbase, 152 farmers in the district are engaged in Mentha production while 55 have chosen Eucalyptus production.
However, according to him, the government’s support is necessary to promote the herbs production in the district.
One Dil Bahadur Chaudhary of Tikapur-1 said he has been doing Mentha farming in one bigha of land (one bigha is equivalent to 72,900 sq.ft) and hopes to see better results than from the maize farming last year. He said though farmers are ready to promote herbal production, issues like the availability of seeds and other facilities have discouraged them.
It is said three to five litres menthol oil can be produced from the mentha planted on one kaththa land. The Herbs Production and Processing Company Limited Tikapur purchases the oil processed from menthe from farmers. It buys the processed menthe oil at Rs 1,400 per litre, the eucalyptus oil for Rs 1,150 per litre and the chamomile oil for Rs 19thousand per litre.
The Company has four and a half bighas plot of land in Tikapur and it produces the seeds for the farmers. The farmers who were growing medicinal herbs on commercial basis since three years back had switched to cultivating other crops after getting subsidies for growing these crops. However, they have taken up medicinal herbs cultivation from this year, according to the farmers.
The Company had two machines for the processing of herbs. It bought four more machines at a cost of approximately Rs 15 million six years back after the increase in the number of farmers taking to herbal farming.
According to farmers, they are attracted to herbs farming as it is comparatively easier that the cereal crop farming and since herbs are cash crops. The Company has also provided employment to the farmers.
The Company’s Tikapur branch regularly employs 30 persons on a daily wage basis and seven are permanent employees. The six processing machines with the Company are operated 16 hours daily. Company chief Belbase said the Company can process around 50 tonnes herbs daily.

07- Two ministers, including DPM Yadav, take oath before President
Kathmandu, March 10: Newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, and Minister for Forests and Environment Nawal Kishor Shah Sudi took the oath of office and secrecy before President Ramchandra Paudel today.
The Head of the State administered the oath to the new ministers amidst a ceremony at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas.
The President constituted the Council of Minister with the appointments of Deputy Prime Minister and ministers and also allocated the portfolios, on recommendation of the Prime Minister and in accordance with the Article 76 (9) of the Constitution.
Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli and former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal were among those present on the occasion.
Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal’s Chair Yadav was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) in the by-election (April 23, 2023) from the Bara constituency-2. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Health and Population in 2075 BS.
Similarly, Shah is the HoR member from the Saptari 1.

08- Gold price continues to soar
Kathmandu, March 10: The price of gold continues to set new record in the domestic bullion market. The price of hallmark gold is fixed at Rs 126 thousand per tola (11.66 grams) today. It was at Rs 125 thousand the previous day.
As per the price determined by the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price of worked gold is fixed at Rs 125 thousand per tola. It was at Rs 124 thousand the previous day.
The price of silver has increased by Rs 5 per tola and reached Rs 1,475 today, FENEGOSIDA stated.
The Federation has been determining the price of the yellow metal and silver in the domestic market based on the price in the international market. The price of gold in the international market is around 2,178 US Dollars per ounce.

09- US Ambassador Thompson calls on DPM Shrestha
Kathmandu, March 10: US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson called on the newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, today.
In the meeting took place at the Ministry, of Foreign Affairs, they held discussions on various topics of bilateral interest, said Ministry Spokesperson Amrit Bahadur Rai.

10- Newly-appointed Minister for Forests, Sudi, assumes office
Kathmandu, March 10: Newly-appointed Minister for Forests and Environment, Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi, has taken charge of his post.
He assumed his office at the Ministry of Forests and Environment in Singha Durbar after taking oath of office and secrecy before the President Ramchandra Paudel at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas, earlier today.
On the occasion, high officials of the Ministry and departments and bodies under it, including Secretary Dr Deepak Kumar Kharal, welcomed Minister Sudi at the Ministry.
Talking to after assuming his post, Minister Sudi said he would carry forward the works at the Ministry after consulting and discussing with all employees at the Ministry and departments under it.
“We will take ahead the works of the Ministry seeking opinions, advice from all the stakeholders as to how the forestry sector could be developed and prosperity achieved for the country through this sector,” he said.
The newly-appointed Minister on the occasion asserted that he would focus his attention to fulfilling the livelihood needs of the local people and creating employment opportunities through the forests which cover around 45 percent of the country’s total area.
While assuming office, he signed on the first decision of assigning Coordination Officer for the coordination between the Federal Forests Ministry and the forests ministries of all the seven provinces.
Accordingly, Joint-Secretaries at the Federal Forests Ministry, Badri Raj Dhungana, Nawaraj Pudasaini, Rajendra KC, Dr Maheshwar Dhakal, Dr Buddhi Sagar Paoudel, Mohandev Joshi and Shiva Kumar Wagley have been assigned the Coordination Officer for Koshi province, Madhes province, Bagmati province, Gandaki province, Lumbini province, Karnali province and Sudurpaschim province respectively.
Minister Sudi was elected to the House of Representatives from Saptari election constituency no 1 in the election for the HoR Member held in November 2022.

11- DPM Yadav takes charge
Kathmandu, March 10: Newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, has assumed office at the Ministry after taking oath of office and secrecy from the President today.
On the occasion, he signed on his first decision related to making arrangement for removing the delay in the surgical services seen at the federal and provincial hospitals, and making the services prompt.
He also made a decision of making the digital technology more effective to alleviate the inconvenience of staying in queue for long time for accessing health services. “The compulsion of patients having to stay in long lines to access medical services should end. We will make arrangements enabling the patients to make appointment from their home through online and digital technology. We will enhance the capacity of the government health institutions, providing quality health services,” said the DPM and Health Minister.

12- National Assembly meeting: Election of Chair set for March 12
Kathmandu, March 10: The National Assembly has fixed coming March 12 as the date for the election of the Chair of the upper house of the Federal Parliament.
The today’s meeting of the Assembly directed the Secretary-General of the Federal Parliament Padma Prasad Pandey to publish a notice about the election along with the information that the date 12 March 2024, Tuesday, has been fixed for the election to the post of the National Assembly Chair in accordance with the Rule 7 of the National Assembly Regulations, 2075.
Similarly, the meeting directed to remove certain words used by lawmaker Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar while speaking during discussions on the National Assembly Regulations (Second Amendment), 2080, from the Parliament record.
Taking part in the discussions in the National Assembly meeting on March, lawmaker Sunar had said, “The (real) character of the people calling themselves communists has been exposed like the proverbial jackal in sheep’s skin.”
Another lawmaker Udaya Bahadur Bohara had objected to the words used by Sunar and urged to remove them from the parliament’s records.
Today’s meeting directed to remove the wordings from the parliament record, citing the phrase used by Sunar were ‘inappropriate’ as per the National Assembly Regulations, 2075.
The National Assembly is now holding discussions on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill for the next fiscal year 2024/25.

13- Religious, cultural traditions means of uniting society: former President Yadav
Janakpurdham, March 10: Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said religious and cultural tradition remains as vital means for uniting the society.
Inaugurating the Mithila Madhyamiki Parikrama, a cultural circumambulation of Mithila, amidst a ceremony here today, the former President said the event has its connection with the cultural and historic identity of Mithila.
“The Mithila culture is centuries-old. This is the civilization and identity of the area and roles from each quarters are necessary to further promote it,” he said.
Also speaking on the occasion, Madhesh province minister for industry, tourism and environment, Sunita Yadav, pledged to implement a plan for systematizing the Mithila Madhyamiki Parikrama.
CPN (Maoist Centre)’s central advisor Nanda Kishore Yadav and Mithila Bihari municipality mayor Rajendra Prasad Yadav called for promoting the festival and conserving the Mithila Bihari Temple.
It is noted that during the 15-day festival, thousands of devotees from Nepal and India take part in the circumambulation spanning 113 kilometers by foot, stopping at 15 different places: 11 in Nepal and four in India. The procession began from the Mithila Bihari Temple in Dhanusha.
The pilgrimage is believed to be celebrated as a circumambulation since the 18th century. As per tradition, the pilgrimage reaches Janakpur within 15 days and concludes on Fagu Purnima by playing Holi, according to Temple Mahantha Ramnaresh Sharan.

14- Home Minister instructs Nepal Police to ensure citizen are safe and secure
Kathmandu, March 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Rabi Lamichhane, has directed police personnel to deliver in a way that each citizen could feel safe and secured.
Following his inspection to the Nepal Police Headquarters today, the Home Minister directed them to sue anyone in any incident on the basis of evidences, instead of the command from anywhere.
As he asserted, investigation into any incident should be result-oriented and law should be applied to all equally.
On the occasion, he also laid a wreath on the Police Martyrs Memorial inside the Nepal Police Headquarters.
The Deputy Prime Minister also visited a museum based in the Nepal Police Headquarters.
He also acknowledged the roles of former and incumbent police personnel who contributed to the building the police institution and promoting of its image.
Urging police employees to fulfill the given responsibilities by abiding by law, he urged the institution to ensure the career enhancement opportunities for its staff.
He highlighted the need of seeking help of technology and producing skilled workforce to address crimes assisted by the technology.
He also instructed the police administration to address cases affecting women, children, aged citizens and the people with disabilities with special priority to ensure a prompt justice to them.
Acknowledging the issues relating to usury and mismanagement of cooperatives as a grave challenge, the Home Minister urged the police administration to focus on controlling economic crime, fraud, cyber-crime and drugs smuggling.
Inspector General of Police, Basanta Kunwar, said the Nepal Police is committed to implementing the Home Minister’s direction.

15- President insists on roles of local government to address citizens’ needs
Dhulikhel (Kavrepalanchowk), March 10: President Ramchandra Paudel has said the goals envisaged by the Constitution and democracy are achievable provided that State’s facilities are delivered in a smooth and effective way.
In his address to the seventh establishment of Mandan Deupur municipality today, the President stressed that local bodies should work in a dedicated manner to serve in the best interests of the citizens, making development endeavors result-oriented.
Citizens’ concerns for development, infrastructure development, agriculture, education, roadways facilities, drinking water, sanitation and electricity be addressed, according to the President. Though the roles of three-tier government are vital to addressing these needs of citizens, the role of local governments is more vital, he added.
Agriculture, tourism and energy are bases for the development of our nation and these areas should be properly recognized, he asserted.
Reminding the visions of the establishment of a federal democratic republic system, the President said ‘self-governing’ and ‘self-rule’ were in the centre while implementing this concept.

16- Breakdown of previous coalition positive: Senior Vice Chair Pokhrel
Godawari (Kailali) March 10 : Senior Vice Chair of Nepal Communist Party, Ishwor Pokhrel, has welcomed the breakdown of alliance between CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress, terming it a positive development.
Formation of present alliance having CPN UML and Maoist Centre is a legitimate one, he argued during a press meet organized at Dhangadhi airport on Sunday. He asserted that the previous coalition was intended to sabotage the UML.
Pokhrel further said it was positive to have Maoist Centre’s alliance with NC crumbled because it had neither any programme nor objective. According to him, the present alliance would continue till conduct of coming election in 2084BS. If the present coalition moves ahead with structural changes, it would lead to leftist unity. He underlined the need of unifying leftist forces in the country.

17- Pre-election alliance pollutes politics: General Secretary Thapa
Patan, March 10 : General Secretary of Nepali Congress Gagan Kumar Thapa has argued the pre-election alliance has polluted politics. The recent formation of ruling alliance is also a practice for pre-election alliance, he added.
General Secretary Thapa was speaking at a function organized on the 8th establishment day of Godawari municipality of Lalitpur on Sunday. “Currently, none of the parties has majority of votes in parliament, and if this system persists, same case will repeat. It results into political leaders taking hostage of parliament and government to fulfill their vested interests,” he reminded.
Thapa underlined the need of electoral system to prevent further worsening of politics. Mixed electoral system is also polluted, and has been misused by political leaders to usurp power, he blamed.
As the system is wrong, it is taking huge toll on development. As the closest government to people, local level, needs to deliver public service effectively, he stressed. On the occasion, Bagmati Province Assembly member Min Krishna Maharjan appreciated that Mayor of Godawari municipality had clear vision, goal and roadmap for development and prosperity.
Another member of Bagmati Province Assembly, Urmila Lama, viewed Godawari municipality had carried out significant activities in the sector of education, health, agriculture, infrastructure and tourism, thereby making robust foundation of federalism. Another speaker Raghunath Maharjan, who is also a member of Bagmati Province Assembly, urged the municipality to pay heed to human and social developments.
On the occasion, Chief of District Coordination Committee, Rishi Dev Phunyal, complained that the federal and province governments had failed to allocate the budget as per local levels’ need. Mayor Gajendra Maharjan and Deputy Mayor Muna Adhikari said they would carry out responsibilities by taking into account the suggestions from all sides. They added that they were forwarding development works despite limited resources.

18- NC to field Sharma as NA Chair
Kathmandu, March 10: The Nepali Congress has decided to field Yubaraj Sharma as the candidate of National Assembly Chairman from the party. Election to Chairman of NA, the upper house of federal parliament, is being held on Tuesday.
The meeting of the parliament party work committee held under chairmanship of party President and parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba took this decision. The meeting was held at President Deuba’s residence, Budhanilakantha. The parliamentary party leader’s secretariat has said the party also decided to request other political parties in the National Assembly to vote for Sharma.

Kathmandu, March 10 : The has bid farewell to the outgoing employees.
Senior editor Madan Gautam got retirement on age limit, while sub-administrator Manoj Kumar Lamichhane and account officer Rabin Karki quit the office voluntarily. They were bid farewell amidst a programme at RSS central office, Kathmandu.
RSS Executive Chairman Dharmendra Jha and General Manager Siddharaj Rai wished the outgoing employees better days ahead. They thanked them for their contribution to RSS during their term.
RSS Board members Dilliram Bhattarai and Shankar Kharel also extended best wishes to them. On the occasion, retired editor Gautam shared his three-decade long experience of working with RSS and suggested unity among management and employees to make RSS service competitive and timely.
Similarly, Lamichhane viewed news dissemination had been easier in the wake of development in IT. Account officer Karki said though he worked briefly at RSS, he worked dutifully.

20- Finance Minister Pun invites US investors in Investment Summit
Kathmandu, March 10: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has urged the US investors to participate in the 3rd Nepal Investment Summit scheduled to be held in April.
During a meeting with the US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson, at the Finance Ministry on Sunday, Minister Pun urged the US Envoy for creating environment conducive to ensure participation of more and more investors for the US.
Saying that Nepal has a favourable environment for foreign investors, Minister Pun expressed readiness on the part of the government for ensuring legal and practical facilitations. “Nepal is a virgin land for international investors. I would like to urge for the participation of more and more US investors in the Investment Summit through you,” Finance Minister Pun added.
Likewise, the Finance Minister shared that agriculture, industry and information technology sectors carry huge potential for investment in Nepal. In response, the US Ambassador shared that the US investors are willing to participate in the upcoming Nepal Investment Summit and pledged to create enabling environment for the participation of the US investors in Nepal.
On a different note, the US Ambassador expressed the confidence that the tasks of the transitional justice and peace process will be finalized soon. During the meeting, Ambassador Thompson said that the US government was ready to extend economic assistance to Nepal and pledged for continued development support to Nepal from the US side.
Likewise, he expressed his concerns for timely completion of the MCC projects.

21- PM instructs officials to discharge their duty in changed context
Kathmandu, March 10: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed the officials to work in line with the common minimum programme of the government to be prepared in the changed political context.
In a half-yearly review meeting of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Sunday, the PM asked the officials to work as per the common minimum programme by being more dynamic.
“The policy and programme to be unveiled in the changed political context shall be the guideline for our office, all its line agencies and the entire bureaucracy,” the PM said adding that the new common minimum programme will be released soon. “Officials should discharge their duty accordingly,” according to the PM.
On the occasion, PM Prachanda said that the work execution of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and line agencies should be reviewed on a monthly basis and attention should be given by identifying the challenges.
Likewise, the PM asked the officials to move ahead by marking routine to ensure results of the national pride projects. PM Dahal argued that the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers should stand as a model office for the entire bureaucracy and added that the existing progress was not satisfying. “The given target should be completed in given deadline. For this to happen, this office should play a leading role,” the PM said while instructing the secretaries and divisional chiefs to remain more active.
The PM directed the officials of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and its line agencies to achieve at least 80 per cent of the target by the end of the fiscal year.
Likewise, the PM urged the officials to get ready for the next fiscal year since the government was preparing for the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, policy and programme.

22- Everyone is equal before laws, DPM Lamichhane says
Kathmandu, March 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has said everyone should be equal in the eye of laws.
In an inspection visit to the Nepal Police Headquarters on Sunday, the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister said Nepal Police should perform service delivery to ensure security to every citizen. “Determine with the evidences not from an order on who is to be defendant while carrying out probe and investigation on a certain incident and crime. The investigation should be result-oriented and all should be equal in the eyes of laws,” Lamichhane instructed.
He urged the police personnel to investigate and book (the culprits) by being neutral on the basis of evidences not on the basis of post, position and fame.
The Home Minister emphasized that the police administration should work by remaining under a certain policy and procedure. Likewise, Lamichhane instructed the Nepal Police to work with due priority for the cause of victims, women, children, senior citizens, differently-abled people.
Stating that the issues of usury victims and cooperative organizations have emerged as the key challenges now, the Home Minister has asked the Nepal Police officials to meet public aspirations in combating criminal activities.

23- Maoist Centre to file candidacy of Dahal as NA Chairman
Kathmandu, March 10: The ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to file candidacy of party leader Narayan Dahal as the National Assembly (NA) Chairman.
A meeting of the Maoist Centre party office-bearers held on Sunday decided to pick NA Member Dahal as the candidate, Maoist Centre Vice-Chairman and Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said.
As per the NA Chairman election schedule, candidacy for the NA Chairman should be filed from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Monday. The NA is electing its chairman on March 12.
The meeting also discussed the vote of confidence motion that the Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, is taking from the House of Representatives (HoR) on March 13.

24- Chinese PLA’s Major General Zhang Baoqun calls on CoAS
Kathmandu, March 10: Visiting Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Deputy Chief of International Military Cooperation Office, Zhang Baoqun, called on Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma on Sunday at the Army Headquarters.
The Public Relations Directorate of the Nepali Army said issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
The six-member team of the PLA is scheduled to visit different cultural and touristic sites in Kathmandu, Lumbini and Pokhara.
The Baoqun-led team is to return home on March 12 by wrapping up its four-day visit to Nepal.

25- PM wishes for Gyalbo Lhosar
Kathmandu, March 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said strengthening of the democratic republic, federalism, secularism and social justice was the key task of the present time.
In a message on the occasion of national festival Gyalbo Lhosar today, the PM said achieving the goal of national independence, good-governance, social justice and prosperity by strengthening internal unity was our national duty.

26- President, Vice President extend best wishes on Gyalpo Lhosar
Kathmandu, March 11: President Ram Chandra Paudel has extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers living in the country and abroad on the occasion of Gyalpo Lhosar, a festival celebrated by the Sherpa community, today.
Giving a best wishes message, President Paudel said Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-cultural and multi-lingual country. It is also rich in geographical diversity. The festival as Lhosar enhances socio-cultural harmony, tolerance, good will and fraternity, which ultimately cements national unity, President Paudel reminded.

27- RPP Central Work Execution Committee meeting today
Kathmandu, March 10: The meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is being held today.
The Committee’s meeting will be held at 9 am at the party’s central office, Dhumbarahi, according to party spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha.
The meeting continues today from yesterday where members of the committee are continuing to express their views on the various agenda presented by party President Rajendra Lingden for discussion.
