T20 series: Nepal lose third match to West Indies by 76 runs

Kathmandu, May 1:  Nepal was defeated by West Indies ‘A’ in the third match held today under the T20 series by 76 runs. In its attempt to chase a 228-run target posted by the West Indies, Nepal was restricted to 151 in 19.2 overs, losing all its wickets.

For Nepal, Karan KC scored 28 with three fours and one six in 17 balls, Lokesh Bam 28 with one boundary and two sixes in 29 balls, Kushal Malla 20, Binod Bhandari 19, Anil Shah, 14, captain Dipendra Singh Airee 7, Gulsan Jha 6 and Bibek Yadav, Sagar Dhakal and Aarif Sheikh scored three each. 

Before this, the West Indies chose to bat first by winning the toss at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.  It played the first innings with 227 in 20 overs at the loss of three wickets. 

 For the team, Johnson Charles hit beyond the century as he recorded 119 with 13 boundaries and seven sixes in 61 balls.  Andre Fletcher scored 53 with four boundaries and three sixes in 33 balls. Fabian Allen made 19, Alick Athanaze 17 and Keemo Paul was not out with 13.

Towards bowling, Nepal’s Karan KC and Sagar Dhakal took one wicket each.  In the ongoing T20 series comprising five matches in total, Nepal has won two matches and lost one.

Nepal won the opening match by four wickets while lost the second with 10 runs. The fourth match will take place on tomorrow, Thursday.
