Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that if there is any attempt to take away the rights of people, they will counter it. Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of the birth centenary of CPN founder general secretary Pushpalal Shrestha, here today he mentioned that no one can take away the rights of the people, which were ensured in the constitution.
He said that the constitution should be amended to give more rights to underprivileged communities including women and dalits not to lead the nation on back.
Chairman Dahal, also former Prime Minister said that they would not tolerate if any attempts were made to lead the nation on the way to regression. Although there is no theoretical opposition to the amendment of the constitution, he said that the way the two parties (Nepali Congress and CPN (UML)) are trying to move forward in the name of constitution amendments has made them suspicious. He further called on everyone to advance the process of unity among the left-wing forces again, focusing on the contribution of Pushpalal, the founder general secretary of the CPN.
Similarly, CPN (Unified Socialist) chair Madhav Kumar Nepal pointed out the need for unity and cooperation between the leftists regarding nationalism, democracy and people’s livelihood.
Similarly, former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) leaderJhalnathKhanal, said that political, economic and social problems in the country will be solved only through the socialist programmes. Communist leader BamdevGautam called on all left-wing forces to advance the programme with the goal of building a powerful communist party.
