4G service of NT resumes in more than 50 cities

            Kathmandu, Oct 2 : Nepal Telecom has launched fourth generation (4G) service in more than 50 places of 32 districts of the country.

            Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced the inauguration of 4G service on Wednesday by holding a ‘video conference’ with chief ministers of all seven states using the 4G technology. 

            Earlier on January 1, 2017, the telecom had launched 4G service in Kathmandu and Pokhara. 

            BTS towers have been installed in around 150 locations for the same. The 4G service has been extended to the major cities of all the seven states.  A target has been set to expand the 4G service across the nation within coming December.

            The Telecom has invested Rs 18 billion for the expansion of the 4G service.

            Meanwhile, PM Oli on Wednesday inaugurated 4G internet service provided by state-owned Nepal Telecom across the country. He inaugurated the service in all seven states through a video conference amid an event here.       

      Following the inauguration, PM Oli also held separate brief video conference with state chief ministers and directed effortful measures to implement and make the service a success.
