Kathmandu : Inspector General of Nepal Police, Sarbendra Khanal, has said cybercrime was increasingly posing a challenge to peace and security at present. He however said Nepal Police is able to curb crimes and maintain peace and security in the society.
IGP Khanal was saying it during an interaction with the Masters’ Level students of Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu today. Timely measures are taken to prevent the misuse of technology for crimes, he added.
“Police are active to control border crimes, drug trafficking, cybercrimes and misuse of social networking sites,” he said, adding that police were enhancing their capacity to tackle technology related crimes.
The IGP however said cooperation from community was imperative to make police investigation effective. Nepal Police has been delivering best despite limited resources, he argued.
