Palpa : A health post at rural Nisdi rural municipality-3 in the district is struggling to deliver service for want of human resources.
Despite having a quota of seven employees, the health post is now making do with only four including an auxiliary health worker and an auxiliary nurse midwife.
Laxmi Prasad Pata, the ward chairperson and chairperson of the health post management committee, admitted to the health facility lacking workforce. “We are unable to provide maternity service for want of human resources and a building.
Now we hope these problems will be resolved following the construction of a building for the health post,” he said.
The health institute has now got a new two storey building constructed at the cost of Rs 20 million provided by the government.
As a result of failure of the health post, the only nearby health facility for the locals, to run a maternity service, they are forced to walk around two hours to reach a health institute providing the service.
The heath post is providing service to approximately 5,000 local people.
