Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended hearty best wishes for health, happiness, peace, prosperity and continued progress to all Nepali sisters and brothers in the country and abroad on the occasion of Tamu Lhoshar, the main festival and New Year of the Tamu (Gurung) community.
In a message of best wishes he gave today on the occasion, Prime Minister Oli believed that the Tamu Lhoshar festival would foster cordiality, religious tolerance and respect among all Nepalis including the Tamu community, thereby promoting national unity.
“Our country is a nation with multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural characteristics. The diversity of languages, religions, cultures and costumes, among others, are our valuable asset,” the Prime Minister stated in his message and stressed on the need of promoting and preserving this diversified common cultural capital.
PM Oli has also expressed the belief that this festival will inspire all to move ahead by promoting and protecting the custom, tradition and culture of the Tamu community.
He stated that Nepal was presently on a campaign of fulfilling the national aspiration of the Nepalis for ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’ by internalizing the principle of unity in diversity that defines Nepali identity.
