Bhadakuti to be shot in Rupandehi

KATHMANDU, Nov. 26: Nepali film industry that has come to a standstill due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic across the world is now gradually returning to normalcy with filmmakers announcing their new projects and their shooting dates.

Even though the government has not given permission to open the cinema halls, many filmmakers are gearing up towards shooting their new films.

Currently, a core team of the film Bhadakuti is now hunting locations for its shooting in Rupandehi district.

The film unit reached various locations of Rupandehi district to find an appropriate setting for their movie.

According to writer and director Kiran BK, thier film will tell the story of caste discrimination that has been in existence in the Nepali society for years.

The film based on the inter-caste love affairs between Dalit and non-Dalit love birds raises the issue of caste discrimination, added BK.

Lead actors Benisha Hamal and Mukun Bhushal have also reached Rupandehi during the location hunting.

Director BK said that the work of finding a location for the shooting of the film has almost completed and during the location hunting process, the film unit had also interacted with the locals of various organisations in Butwal regarding the shooting of their film and they received overwhelming support.

The film unit is all set to begin the shooting from January 28 next year.

The film will be shot in various places like Devdaha, Motipur, Raniban, Butwal and various locations of Tilottama Municipality of Rupandehi district, added BK.

According to BK, the movie will be produced spending Rs.10 million under the banner of Drishyalaya Cinema.
